some days are bad

Yesterday was one of them. I feel like at least one of us has been sick this entire winter. Especially Beau and Mama. However Beau doesn't know he's entitled to be grumpy when he feels bad, I should take the hint.

Here's a brief summery... the 10th we started oral antibiotics for an upper respiratory infection which then lead to double ear infections from the drainage. He started ear drop antibiotics on the 18-19 can't remember. Beau woke up vomiting at 6am Saturday the 21st and did not quit throwing up until around 7pm that evening. Did I mention Mike had a ballgame and was gone the whole day? Fun times. Monday Beau had yucky diapers all day. Monday night and Tuesday I was throwing up. Which all leads me to yesterday when we went back to the doctor because his ears are still not well.

Dr Vo took one peek in that right ear and said, "Oh I can't even see the back. We have to give him an antibiotic shot." So here come two nurses both armed with shots. While they are prepping my baby, they are telling me they add lidocaine to these shots even in adults because they HURT SO BAD. I just stood there and blinked, what do I do? In go the shots at the same time, one in each adorable chubby thigh. I can tell you I have Never seen my child so upset. It took everything in me to hold it together and get him to calm down. It was unreal. My heart broke and so did his. I'm trying not to cry right now thinking about it. He wasn't kicking or fighting or screaming, just hyperventilating, choking, gagging and turning blueish. That was bad.

We got out of there as soon as possible and were advised to watch for "adverse side effects". Way to stress out a Mom. The adverse side effect was no sleep for Beau. He sleeps on his tummy and sides. I'm pretty sure he woke up each time he rolled over on those legs. Motrin helped, but we're sleepy.

I'm comforted with the fact that the Lord knows what I can handle.

the belly

So you may be thinking, Oh its not that bad...

Yes, side view is a different story.

yup.

Beau soon caught on to picture time and wanted in on the action. "Inna Cheese, Mama".

Hambone giving the camera/You a kiss. love him.

I also love being pregnant. I know it is a precious gift and I am seriously so thankful. If I had to sum up what is different from carrying my babies, one word - Everything. But I'm thankful for the different experiences. I know I rely heavily on asking advice from other mommy's and now I can help friends and family in the same way.

At this point I'm about 6.5mos along and I believe Baby Girl has the accommodations of a penthouse suite for comfort, I'm just so much bigger at this point than last time. Oh well, she deserves it because I'm pretty sure she'll be somewhat of a diva. I know she already has a hankering for chocolate and congratulates me for caving on a craving with a happy dance. I don't regularly eat a lot of chocolate, but these days if you have a warm choc-chip cookie, you better re-count your fingers. Actually I crave everything salty, sweet and horribly un-nutritionally sound this time. It's a battle I usually win, but MD's french fries and coke call for me religiously. Jerks. And now the shamrock shakes are back. Thanks McDonalds.

I don't have the house ready. I am probably the most irritating "nester" there ever was. Poor Mike. We've managed to solve the bed crisis, just need to take the time to implement the plan. However my little friend I like to call Basketball Season is in my way. I do need a dresser/changing table for one of the bedrooms. Please let me know if you have any ideas. I've been searching the internet with no luck. Just a do-for is all I need. I can make anything pretty.

Otherwise everything else is checking out great, Praise the Good Lord. I have another Dr appointment next Friday and after that I go to every-2-week checkups. Eeek!! This is going by so scary fast. Last time I felt like the mom on Lady and the Tramp knitting booties waiting for my baby, this time I'm like, oh crap, another appointment, how far along am I and where is Beau?

beauisms

We all know Beau is a hoot and a half. He's is just a regular little comedian lately so I have to make a list of the recent funnies...

-While squating down picking up the kitchen floor, he came up behind me, flipped open the back of my pants and said, "you poop Mama?" Nope, but thanks for checking!

-While I was gone one night, Mike put him in the bathtub. He was splashing around and then leaned over the edge of the tub holding a piece of POOP and said, "trash." Mike immediately removed baby, said trash, drained and bleached the tub, refilled tub, returned baby whom then proceeded to wiz in the new bath water. Mike immediately removed baby, drained and bleached the tub and then finished the bath under running water, never to try to fill the tub again. 19 1/2 months was a good run to never have pooed during bathtime.

-Mike and Beau take turns hiding and scaring each other in the house. We laugh so hard, it's hard to breathe.

-When I put him in the highchair to eat he says, "AMEN" because then its time to eat. I guess he prayed to himself.

-We can now have a several sentance conversation and he is still a very decisive toddler. "Ready for PJ's Beau?" "Yes and bath too!" he answers.

-He'll hold up his little arms and say, "Inna Hug!" when he wants to be picked up. Melt.

-He runs up to Mike and says, "Two!" because Mike generally counts to 3 and then throws him in the air.

-Apple refers to any and all fruit or vegetables he may be hungry for.. "Inna Apple".

-A new bathtub trick is full out belly flops. Just a warning...

valentine sweetness

Simplicity is sometimes the greatest gift. I've made a new favorite memory. Mike and I have never been a couple to go overboard with Valentine's day. We love chocolate, we love each other, we know that. I've been traveling a lot with my job but found the coolest local gourmet chocolate shop in Osage Beach on the way home late Saturday night and picked out a box of Mike's favorite things. Plus I threw in 2 chocolate strawberries for me and the bear. Sunday morning Beau had a Loo-Loon!!! (balloon) and was totally pumped. Mike surprised me with a little box of truffles from the Candy House and a card. How sweet! So me and Beau crept back in bed with a sleepy Daddy and we shared the strawberries in bed. Simple Sweetness.

happy valentines day from the beau!

Stuck.

Shame on me for neglecting my blogging responsibilities. I really have no concept of how far behind I am at work, it's mind numbing but I had to share this funny...
This morning was SO cold. I left Beau in his fuzzy footie pj's to go to Joy's house. I was trying to get his stuff together to take him inside her house in the driveway, he was reaching (unbuckled)for something in the seat beside him and he ended up falling out of his car seat and got stuck between the front and backseat and diaper bag in the floorboard. I know it seems hard to imagine, but it was so funny. His big hinny was sticking up in the air with little footie feet kicking... The fuzzy fleece pj's somehow power locked themselves within the cloth seats and I seriously couldn't get him out for a few moments. I got tickled and became less productive in crisis management, then Beau started getting concerned, "Mama? I stuck." Yes you are my dear. I successfully un-wedged my toddler to find his sweet red checks, backwards hat and he gave me an exasperated, "Whew!" While shaking his head.
And soon I'll have two...
